The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 明明网易云听了好几遍才来看的音乐剧，还是一开场就泪目。想起来地震后的很多，人与人之间的相互关爱，是世界上最美好的事。
911同人衍生之“迷失”之音乐剧官摄录像，但不在live现场的观感总会打折扣，所以并没有很进入剧情，音乐没有很突出，不过在特殊时期守望相助的情感倒是颇能打动人，但这种美式主流正能量的鸡汤味有多浓，也是冷暖自知的事。
无与伦比的舞台艺术，12位演员，精彩绝伦。

当生活被灾难按下了暂停键，内心的某些地方会变得不同，也许是感恩生活，也许是增加仇恨。没有人在灾难中一无所获。台上的演员高矮胖瘦都有，岛民和乘客身份随时切换，非常出彩。
天空比北极更为黑暗
头一天看了一部本土爱国主义舞台剧，然后这么一对比……好的更好了，差的就不说了。基本上就是我们和世界的差距吧。
特别，特别，特别感动。愿所有善行都被铭记，并得到应有的回报。音乐本身不算出彩，绝大多数对白和歌曲节奏都偏快，虽然是为了营造紧张气氛，但如果有更多抒情旋律的适当调剂，整体感觉会更张驰有度。唯一印象深刻的歌是女机长的独唱，旋律优美，而且歌词特别励志。根据真人真事改编的故事线太有感染力了，数次泪目，如果改编成话剧或电影，可能也会出好作品。
形式太有意思了，音乐剧真的拥有无限张力，安慰生活在2020年以后的我，那首Prayer太震撼了，Me and the sky机长好帅气。

舞台利用最大化，每一位演员都身兼多名角色，性格反差明显，特别优秀。

如果没有疫情 去年的这个时候 我已经坐在文广 在现场成为了一名纽芬兰人
真的太受震撼了，第一次受到震撼是入坑之作伊丽莎白，被编排舞美歌曲合唱各种震撼到。来自远方布景简单，但是给我各种意义上的“华丽”感，开场就敲击我大脑的合唱，人物动线紧凑，舞蹈编排，角色切换，场景迅速的变换，几十把椅子从酒馆到飞机，到巴士到小学，十几个人演绎出了这个从九千人一夜之间成为一万六千多人的淳朴小岛，机长的唱段，真的让我感受到了飞在空中的眩晕感！这部太值得看了，无论是故事里触动人心的点，还是这部剧本身的艺术功底，都很值得看！希望疫情早日过去，能在剧场相见！
太美式温情了。作为音乐剧，里面的歌曲太少，除了Me and the Sky，没有拿得出手的...
